Bojan Miovski to Rangers loan transfer escalates as Girona striker stance on move clear
The former Aberdeen striker is set to leave the La Liga side this summer after a fresh push by his club
Rangers are reportedly interesting in a loan deal for Girona misfit Bojan Miovski as the striker weighs up his options.
Just 12 months on from leaving Aberdeen for the La Liga side in a £6.8million deal, the Spanish side are keen to offload the North Macedonia international.
Girona battled against relegation last term as well as struggling in the Champions League with Miovski netting just four times in 21 matches in all competitions.
But during his two seasons at Pittodrie he impressed and now looks set to be offered the chance to return to the Scottish Premiership.
The 26-year-old was previously on Celtic's radar before to his big money move to Spain and Catalonian outlet Què T'hi Jugues report that Miovski has been left out of the squad for the clash with Villarreal to decide his future.
It is claimed that the frontman has been told that he must leave this summer "no matter what" with a temporary move to Rangers considered one of the most "attractive options" by Miovski.
Strikers are top of the Ibrox shopping list with Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers facing uncertain futures - while Danilo has yet to win over the fans after a leading role in the side since Russell Martin's arrival.
Speaking last week, Girona sporting director Quique Cárcel threw open the door to Miovski. He told Ara: "We will try to work out a deal for Miovski without losing the investment made.
"We have the structure and we shouldn't put a cross on anyone. We have to look out for what's best for the club, and there are players we signed last year who will improve."
The former MTK Budapest frontman also hasn't ruled out making a sensational return to the Granite CIty.
In an interview with RG.org earlier this summer, he said: "My career will probably last for another 10 years, and I cannot predict the future, but I do not rule out the possibility of wearing Aberdeen’s shirt again one day.
"I was really appreciated within the club, and I love the club as well. I felt really good there, and if I return there one day, winning a trophy would be at the top of my list.
“My primary goal is to score as many goals as possible next season and help my team achieve its targets. I signed a long-term deal last year, but I cannot predict what will happen over the summer.
"Although the club considers me a project to develop and I have three years left on my contract, everything is open, and whether I will leave or stay depends on the club."
