Cam Norrie shuts down senseless Emma Raducanu question as astonished star tells Wimbledon reporter 'ask her'
Norrie was asked whether he's dating Raducanu after reaching the last 16 at Wimbledon
Cam Norrie secured his status as the last Brit standing in the men's singles at Wimbledon – before shutting down a senseless question about whether he's dating Emma Raducanu.
The world no.61 made it to the last 16 by beating Mattia Bellucci 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, 6-3 and, after No.4 seed Jack Draper's shock exit to Marin Cilic, Norrie is the only British man left at this year's tournament.
But one reporter was interested in more than just his life on-court.
Emma Raducanu's personal life has been a source of serious social media interest during this year's tournament and rumours have been rife of romances with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz as well as Norrie.
And one reporter took it upon themselves to ask Norrie about it directly.
At his post match press conference after reaching the last 16, one reporter said: "Congratulations again on your win."Apart from everyone here loving tennis, some of the gossip has been about who Emma Raducanu is dating. Can I ask if you're dating her? Can we get to the bottom of this, please?"
A perplexed Norrie straightened up and replied: "Sorry?"
The reporter followed up: "We're trying to find out who is dating Emma Raducanu. It seems to be going round all the men's singles. I was just wondering if you are dating her, please?"
But he shut it down and said: "I'm not, no. You can ask her, though. You can ask her. I don't know."
