Cannabis and ketamine worth over £150,000 found during police raid
Officers executed a warrant after spotting a man in possession of drugs on a Glasgow street.
A drugs haul worth over £150,000 has been recovered after police swooped on a property in Glasgow.
Officers on patrol saw a man in possession of drugs on Lawrence Street, in the city's West End.
A warrant was then executed at a premises on the street, where herbal cannabis and ketamine with an estimated street value of £155,000 was recovered, as well as £45,655 in cash.
A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 25.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Inspector Alan Ferguson said: “Police Scotland is committed to tackling violence and drug dealing in our communities.
“We cannot do this alone, and the public’s help is absolutely vital when it comes to ridding our communities of these illegal activities.
“Anyone with information or concerns should contact police on 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
It comes as a crackdown on drugs and organised crime continues, which resulted in a separate series of raids on Thursday.
Police attended addresses in Aberdeen, Dundee and Perth on August 21, and executed nine search warrants.
Seven men aged between 17 and 34 were arrested, and drugs worth £50,000 seized along with a four-figure sum of cash.
This takes the total number of arrests as part of the probe, which began in January, to 18, with 11 others arrested previously and more than half a million pounds worth of cannabis recovered in Tayside.
