Carlos Alcaraz sees astonishingly brutal confession to his coaches caught on Wimbledon microphone
The back-to-back SW19 kingpin was brutally succeeded by the Italian who reigned supreme
Crestfallen Carlos Alcaraz confessed rival Jannik Sinner was outclassing him in the Wimbledon Final two sets before his fate was sealed.
The back-to-back SW19 kingpin was brutally succeeded by the Italian who reigned supreme by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to secure his first Grand Slam on grass and his fourth overall.
Commentators around the globe noted Alcaraz's sluggish demeanour with audio picking up his confession to his coaches in the third set when he admitted steely Sinner was too much to handle.
The 22-year-old, speaking to coach Juan Carlos Ferrero and other members of his team, said: "He is playing much better than me."
That brutally honest assertion was backed-up in the BBC commentary box. Todd Woodbridge said: "Carlos Alcaraz is perplexed. He is not really sure what to do at this point."
