Cops attacked eight times during TRNSMT and police responded to 43 drug incidents

Police Scotland has now disclosed a breakdown of the 124 incidents which occurred.

Police officers were attacked a total of eight times and attended 43 drug-related incidents during TRNSMT last month.


A Freedom of Information request has revealed that a total of 19 people were charged during the Glasgow Green event, which was headlined by 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol.


These were relating to a number of offences including police assault, assault, sexual assault, culpable and reckless behaviour, hate crime and possession of weapons.


The festival took place during the weekend of July 11 to 13 and an FOI released by Police Scotland has now disclosed a breakdown of the 124 incidents which occurred.

Officers were assaulted eight times, with five of the attacks occurring on the opening day of the music festival. Police also responded to 12 attacks on members of the public.

Over the weekend, 43 drug-related incidents, including misuse of Class A, B and C substances, took place.


Two sexual assaults were also reported to authorities during the event. On Friday, July 11, one incident involved an individual wearing an item linked to a proscribed terrorist organisation.

Police were called to two incidents of people with weapons, including someone with a bladed article. On the closing day of the festival, officers responded to two incidents of racially aggravated behaviour.
