Gerwyn Price reveals his exact stunning weight loss and real motivation for darts prizes

Welsh ace looking sleak and performing superbly as he chases more success in Australia at World Series

Slimmed-down Gerwyn Price reckons he’s shed a massive three stone in his quest to bag the cash and not the trophies.

But The Iceman reckons he’ll be off to McDonalds if he wins the Australian Darts Masters.

The Welsh star surged into the next stage of the World Series event with a win over Joe Comito and made key revelations after the contest.

Price is shaping up superbly and said: “I am not sure what I have lost. How many kilos in a stone? I think I have lost between 13-15kgs. About three stone. Dieting, back in the gym, looking after myself. I don’t think it affects me physically when I am throwing but mentally it definitely helps.

“I feel comfortable. I am in some smaller clothes, I feel better in myself, mentally it’s a lot better. I tried to squeeze into a large size a little bit too soon and after a month or two, I was able to fit into it, it was alright then.

"Is this a long-term approach? I am not sure, I have started craving McDonald’s now and again. I was having one at 6.30am. So, give it another month, if I keep doing that, it will be back on.”

Price slid into a gold shirt for the Aussie tournament having won the title a year ago with a thumping of Luke Littler in the Final and added: “I wear a different shirt whenever I go, Premier League, World Series of Darts events. I chose the colours. I picked this one. I think it goes well.

“Looking back to 2024, since I have had my Tour Card, was probably the worst season that I had. I was absolute rubbish. It [Littler] was a good game. I watched it back on the TV a couple of times in the practice room. I have dropped a couple of pounds since then haven’t I?”

Price seeks success and has aim to reach World No.1 by the end of the year with a World title win, but doesn’t hide the real motivation as he explained: “Trophies don’t matter to me. It’s the ranking points and a bit of money at the minute.

“I have a family to look after, as long as I provide for those, build a platform, invest my money well. I love to win trophies, to do well, leave a legacy but money means everything, doesn’t it?

"I want to win every tournament I go into and put myself under pressure. You cannot win everything, the way the standard is at the minute. I will try my best. What eases the pressure is I have invested my money well. I am not under pressure if I don’t win, if I do then the rewards are there.”
