Gogglebox star shares health battle after revealing cancer diagnosis
The TV star shared a health update with her fans after she was rushed to hospital and has been inundated with support on social media.
Gogglebox star Anastasia Katselas has been flooded with messages of support following emergency surgery. The Melbourne-based TV personality rose to fame after appearing on the Australian version of the programme in 2015.
Anastasia disclosed she was rushed to hospital after receiving a cancer diagnosis. She posted a video on Instagram, detailing that she underwent an emergency hysterectomy after doctors found cancer in her uterus.
The news came following concerns flagged by a smear test, as she urged her followers to also get screened, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
She said: "I had a little bit of a health scare, I went into hospital on Tuesday after I got diagnosed with cancer in my uterus so I had an emergency hysterectomy.
"I'm fine, I'm home now, I stayed in hospital on Tuesday, Wednesday, came home Thursday, I'm fine, just a bit sore, recovering well."
She added: "It was a big scare, but thank God they caught it early and I am fine. But I urge all you women, make sure that you do your pap smears regularly, don't wait, don't forget about it.
"I used to do them regularly and I think the last few years I didn't go, I can't remember the last time I went."
She continued: "I happened to go to the doctor, because I had a concern, and they did a pap smear and lo and behold a week later I am in hospital.
"They said they caught it early, but I am still waiting for the after surgery tests, and hopefully, the doctor said it did not spread, so hopefully I will be okay."
"Recovering after surgery. I'm. Fine. Very lucky," she expressed in the caption. "@cabrinihealth @drtommanolitsis @allmedicalwantirna thank you for looking after me so promptly. God saved me again. Thank you God."
Fans of the star were quick to rally around her, with one posting: "Sending love and well wishes for a speedy recovery." Another chimed in: "Hope you're okay and have a speedy recovery! Glad you got it early."

Anastasia is a regular on Gogglebox alongside her best pal Faye, with the pair having provided their belovedcommentary since the show's first series.
When the hit programme kicked off its 21st series earlier this year, the duo chatted to TV Week about their future plans for the show.
"We'll be there in our rocking chairs," Anastasia joked. "I love everything about it! I love the fact I'm on TV."
