The Edinburgh mum is currently on holiday in Orlando after she flew to the US on Wednesday while a mass evacuation was taking place.
An Edinburgh mum who is currently in Florida on holiday has shared the eerie footage of a deserted Disney World during Hurricane Milton.
The mum jetted out to Orlando from Manchester Airport on Wednesday while a mass evacuation was ongoing in the US ahead of the deadly hurricane.
People are ordered to stay indoors unless faced with a life-threatening situation as Hurricane Milton smashes into Florida.
The storm brought ten feet of water and surges of 150mph winds to the area, with multiple fatalities confirmed.
The hurricane has now been downgraded to category one after making landfall, but footage taken in one of Disney World's Animal Kingdom Lodges shows shops with boarded-up windows as the mum also shared terrifying footage of the storm from her hotel room.
Arriving at the popular tourist attraction, the TikTok user, who goes by @UnorganisedMummy, said: "This is the first time we've experienced a hurricane issue in our five or six times here. We went to the little outlet, it's all boarded up. There's a lot of family businesses all boarding up their windows just in case. Animal Kingdom Lodge is super accommodating. At the moment we've just got rain and a bit of wind.
"As you can see it's starting to get a bit flooded. The windows seem really robust as it is really chucking it down."
Another updated video from the mum's balcony at Disney World shows the wind battering trees in the area with huge downpours and flooding visible within the park.
She added: "Tomorrow is Thursday and apparently it's to be horrible weather all through the day. The hurricane is due to hit us at around 2am in the morning and Friday it should be back to normal."
Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida at about 8.30pm local time. The US National Hurricane Centre reports the hurricane had maximum sustained winds of 120mph.
About 90 minutes after making landfall, Milton was centred about 20 miles (30 kilometres) northeast of Sarasota and had weakened slightly with maximum sustained winds of 110mph (175ph), the hurricane centre reported.
The US National Weather Service has issued the highest level of flood warning to more than two million residents within Milton's path.
Blackouts from the damaging storm have plunged more than 2 million people into darkness so far, as per the electrical fault website poweroutage.us.
Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and Tui are among the airlines to have cancelled flights between the UK and Florida.
A number of airports in Florida have closed to commercial operations, including Orlando International, Melbourne Orlando International and Tampa International.
