Emmerdale actor Lawrence Robb has posted his first message since his character was seemingly killed off in the Dales, but it didn't relate to his suspected departure.

There's no confirmation that the Scottish actor has left the ITV soap, despite recent whispers suggesting he would be exiting the show after a five-year stint. However, things appeared grim for his character, Mackenzie Boyd, during Thursday's (August 21) episode.

Emmerdale viewers watched on as he was pursued and assaulted by village murderer John Sugden. As fans are aware, Mack's relationship with Charity Dingle recently hit a rough patch when she offered to act as a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah Sugden.

Having recently admitted that he wasn't entirely supportive of the surrogacy plan, despite Charity now being pregnant, Mack was instructed to leave his home and stay with his sister, Moria Dingle, by Charity, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Feeling sorry for himself, Mack decided to head to London for a party. He accepted a lift to the train station from John and while in his van, Mack glanced at a photo album and saw John pictured with the man who was hired to clear out the late Nate Robinson's possessions.

The penny quickly dropped for Mack, as viewers know that Nate was revealed to have been murdered - but only they know that it was John who was responsible for his tragic demise.

During Thursday' hour-long episode, upon discovering how much he knew, a tense chase unfolded, which saw John actively hunting Mack through the woods.

There was a brief moment of hope when it seemed Mack might escape unharmed. However, as John boasted that he's "always one step ahead", shocking scenes unfolded as John fired a crossbow directly through Mack's chest.

Desperately begging for mercy, Mack vowed to keep John's secret safe, but viewers witnessed John apparently striking Mack over the head with a stone before the episode's final moments suggested that Mack's lifeless body had been concealed in the rear of John's van.

With Emmerdale viewers now anxiously awaiting developments, Lawrence, who became part of the cast in 2020, appeared to be distracted from his potential departure and was spotted championing one of his former colleagues.

Shortly before his harrowing soap storyline was broadcast, news emerged that Emmerdale's Lewis Cope would be participating in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The performer, who portrayed Nicky Milligan in the ITV soap, was announced as a substitute for Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn who had to pull out of the competition due to health issues.

Hours afterwards, whilst revealing his involvement on BBC One's The One Show as the complete roster for Strictly 2025 was unveiled, Lewis explained the show had contacted him on Monday (August 18) enquiring whether he wished to join this year's competition.

When asked about his late entry into the series, Lewis commented: "I think, if anything, it's probably helped me because I haven't really had time to think about it or anything so now the excitement has kind of just taken over.

"I think it's probably better for me," he further added. He also expressed his aim to particularly impress judge Shirley Ballas from the show's panel.
