Popular holiday airline Jet2.com has strengthened its family-friendly appeal by announcing that tots under two will now travel completely free of charge.

The policy change means Jet2.com becomes the sole UK carrier offering complimentary flights for under-twos heading to destinations across Europe, the Canaries and the Mediterranean.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: "As a family-friendly airline and tour operator, we are always looking at how we can make the experience even better for families travelling with us. By putting our customers first and making these changes, meaning that all children under 2 now travel for free whether on a package holiday or a seat-only flight, we are making travel even more accessible for millions of families."

The updated policy applies to all fresh bookings made from Friday, August 22, with little ones required to be under two years old when they actually travel for the offer to remain valid.

Since tots under two were already travelling without charge on Jet2holidays packages, this development guarantees that all under-twos fly free with Jet2 - whether they're booking a complete holiday with Jet2holidays or simply purchasing flights through Jet2.com.

Furthermore, Jet2.com has introduced a welcome family-focused adjustment to its child and infant equipment policy, guaranteeing that families won't face additional baggage charges for youngsters' or babies' gear placed in the aircraft hold. This policy is effective immediately.

In addition to an extra 10kg baggage allowance for children under two, customers can bring up to two items per child under two free of charge to be checked into the hold. These can include a collapsible pushchair, pram or buggy, car seat or booster seat, baby carrier, or travel cot and the 10kg weight limitation no longer applies to these items.
