Katie Price has criticised the expectation of sharing "photo opportunities" with her own children as she defended her parenting. The former glamour model's family life and past relationships have been thrust back into the spotlight.

It comes following a series of disputes aimed at the 48-year-old. She reportedly had a disagreement with her 18-year-old daughter, Princess, which led to her ex-husband and Princess's father, Peter Andre, responding with a statement on social media.

Mum-of-five Katie retorted with her own explosive post, admitting that she hadn't always been "the mother I should have been while I struggled with mental illness".

Rumours about Katie's relationship with Princess emerged after the launch of the teenager's new TV series, The Princess Diaries. This followed a 'tricky' issue related to Katie and Peter's ongoing feud that affected her series.

Katie alleged that she was prohibited from appearing on the show because it was produced by Peter's management company. She was absent from Princess' 18th birthday, with Katie maintaining that she was instructed to stay away, reports the Mirror.

However, the lack of social media posts featuring her children fuelled speculation of a rift with her fans. Now, Katie has defended her decision not to share photos with her children despite her frequent use of social media.

On her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she argued: "I will say one thing, I don't have to go on social media. The amount of times I go to see Junior, and go round his house and see him and Jasmine, 'can we do a picture just so people can see I'm round your house?'".

"I don't do that. I don't have to prove that to anyone. It's like with Princess, I see her all the time. I don't have to do all that picture taking."

Princess has already tackled her supposed 'row' with her mum during a chat on her ITV2 reality programme, where she explained there had been no arrangements for both Katie and her former partner Peter to attend the celebration.

Katie has been hit by another ex speaking out as Alex Reid shared footage of her relaxing on a settee "enjoying counting" a stack of money. In the footage, Katie, who was made bankrupt twice over debts exceeding £3m, remarked: "There's loads here ... I'm just sorting it out".

A spokesperson for Katie replied: "This is a video that was shared with Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee's investigations into the same.

In the footage, Katie labelled Peter's wife Emily and their two children "irrelevant". A source close to Peter told the Mirror: "He's so shocked that she would do this in front of their young child and saying his young children are irrelevant. It's not about the money. How could a mother do that about young children?".
