Knocking Aberdeen out 'no problem' for cocky FCSB duo expecting smooth Europa League passage
Jimmy Thelin's men face a two-legged shootout with a shot at a cash jackpot and Europa League proper on the line
Two Steaua Bucharest stars have insisted eliminating Aberdeen from the Europa League will be 'no problem'.
Jimmy Thelin's men face the former European Cup Winners in a two-legged play-off with the winner of the tie heading into the Europa League proper.
The first leg will be played in the Granite City before a trip to Romania for a showdown at the Arena Nationala Stadium.
Steaua knocked out Drita with wins home and away and Dennis Politic and David Miculescu - both Romanian internationals and found the net in Pristina - are very confident of defeating the Scottish Cup holders and booking their spot in the competition league phase.
Politic said: "I think we will be able to enter the Europa League group stages without any problems.
"It is an accessible path for us, we are playing Aberdeen - a good team, from Scotland - but very beatable, from my point of view.
"The boys got through against tougher teams last season. We're going into the games very motivated and we won't have any problems."
And his view on Aberdeen was shared by Miculescu.
He said: "I saw their recent match against Celtic. Aberdeen are a good team, but if we do our job and do what we've worked on in training, we won't have any problems.
"There's no doubt we are aiming to win both matches at home and away in the play-offs."
And the club's madcap chairman Gica Becali - who picks the team and even makes subs - was no less confident.
He said: "My coaching staff tell me Aberdeen are slightly better than Drita.
"I personally haven't watched them, I don't need to.
"We play the derby against Rapid Bucharest this weekend. There will be six changes to the team because many players looked tired."
