Lennon Miller 'rejects' Ipswich Town as Motherwell star zeroes in on blockbuster £4.5m Udinese transfer
The Fir Park side are set to land a record club sale for the teenager as he gets ready to become the latest Scot in Italy
Lennon Miller is on his way to Italy to complete a big money move to Udinese.
We told you last night how Motherwell and the Serie A side were locked in talks over the Scotland international.
He has now been snapped at Glasgow Airport ahead of a club record deal for the Fir Park side - one that would eclipse the fee that took David Turnbull to Celtic.
But in a fresh twist the Scottish Sun are reporting that he rejected advances from Ipswich Town in favour of a move abroad for a fee in the region of £4.5million - with that number potentially rising further depending on certain add-ons in the agreement.
They claim the Tractor Boys - looking to return to the English Premier League at the first time of asking - were the only other team to put an official offer on the table to club chiefs at Fir Park.
However, the 18-year-old has his heart set on following the likes of Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour and Lewis Ferguson to the continent.
Torino were also said to be keen according to the same publication but failed to make an offer before Udinese got the green light.
The Scotland cap was left out of the weekend draw with St Mirren as the Steelmen made it two draws from the opening two games after holding Rangers on the opening weekend.
Speaking about Miller ahead of that game in Paisley, boss Jens Berthel Askou said: "Yes, it was a final call with everything taken into consideration.
"It's not a secret that there are things going on in the background. We know he's been out for four weeks.
"How much risk are you willing to take on a player like him in that situation? The decision was that we kept him out of it."
