Mum on Tenerife holiday left speechless after being handed surprising dinner bill
A mum-of-five recently shared a video on TikTok which revealed how much her family's meal for seven in Tenerife cost - and people are seriously impressed by the bill
Holidays can often be a pricey affair, with many of us having to carefully budget before jetting off abroad. Even after covering the cost of flights and accommodation, there's still the expense of food to consider.
So when one mum treated her family-of-seven to a meal out in Tenerife last year, she was bracing herself for a hefty bill. However, she was pleasantly surprised to find the dinner was far more affordable than she had anticipated. It comes as Scots in Benidorm issued 'red alert' summer warning. In a TikTok video, she shared her family had ordered items such as steak, pizza and drinks. They were left stunned when the bill arrived, revealing it to be incredibly reasonable.
She told her followers: "Evening meal this evening cost €54.84 (around £45)."
Viewers were just as taken aback by the affordability of the meal out, proving a good meal doesn't always have to break the bank.
One person said: "That would be £150 easy in Turkey."
Another commented: "How? That's amazing!" A third remarked: "Good price. We normally pay roughly 50 to 60 euros for three people."
Meanwhile, a fourth said: "Amazing value, and your kids seem very well behaved too. That's amazing."
Someone else added: "Beautiful family, and food looks good. Very reasonable." Another fan chimed in with: "Love their table etiquette. Great parenting."
And a final commenter gushed: "That's amazing. I live in Cyprus. It would be much more than that."
However, not everyone has been as lucky. A couple were left in shock when they received an exorbitant bill at a beach club in Ibiza, thinking "something must be wrong".
Adding to the list of holiday horrors, another tourist was left seething after being slapped with a £610 bill for 'four drinks and food' at a Greek bar. The lesson here?
Always do your homework and check prices before deciding where to dine.
