WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Outlander Blood of My Blood.

Blood of My Blood fans were left in tears at an Outlander Easter egg which explained Claire Fraser’s name.

MGM+’s Outlander Blood of My Blood, much like the original drama, flits through various timelines with the latest episode, Heart of A Solider, spending some time during the First World War.

The heartwarming scenes show Julia Moriston (played by Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) excited to welcome their unborn child into the world. In the touching scene, Julia tells her husband: “Let me and this baby be your guiding light.”

Henry then simply states: “Claire”, to which Julia asks: “What?”

He clarifies: “If it’s a girl - Claire. It’s French for clear and bright”, and with a big smile on her face, she replies: “Like our future.”

This isn’t the first time that Claire has been referred to as a form of light as Outlander fans will remember her husband Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) expressed the same sentiment.

He once told her in season three: “It was as if I stepped out on a cloudy day and suddenly the sun came out.

“It was as if the sun returned and cast out the darkness.

“If you were no longer there or somewhere, then the sun would no longer come up or down.”

There is also a reference to this in author Diana Gabaldon’s fifth book The Fiery Cross. It reads: “‘Sorcha’, he called softly and she turned, eyes narrowed against the rays of the sinking sun, then wide and gold with surprise at the sight of him.

“It was her name in the Gaelic. He liked the strangeness of her, the Englishness.

“She was his Claire, his Sassenach. And yet in the moment when she passed him, she was Sorcha. Not only ‘Claire’ it meant - but light.”

Emotional fans took to X to share their admiration for this scene in Blood of My Blood with someone writing: “ Claire being a light to both her parents and husband. I’m fine”, followed by a heart and a crying emoji.

Another agreed: “ Claire getting her name because she is her parents guiding light is so precious.

“I think they would have been pleased to know they have a son-in-law who sees her as his sunlight.”

Someone else posted: “Claire was literally the ‘ light’ of her parents’ lives and I think that's the most wholesome precious thing ever.”

While another said: “This broke me. Henry choosing her name after all he’s been through, but knows Claire is their light . They just loved her so much!”

Outlander Blood of My Blood continues every Saturday on MGM+.
