Seven Rangers players with 'one eye out the door' as Russell Martin transfer rant exposes bomb squad
Martin says there will be more exits before the deadline on September 1
Furious Russell Martin has revealed that Hamza Igamane wouldn't play for Rangers in the draw with St Mirren.
And the striker is not the only player with one foot out of the door as the clock ticks down on the transfer wndow.
Lille saw a loan offer for the Moroccan kicked out by Rangers ahead of the clash in Paisley - and Martin declared the striker told him he was injured with the Light Blues trailing 1-0.
During his searing post-match rant about Igamane, he declared that "there are a lot of people with one eye out the door and one eye in" with the list going beyond the rebel striker.
Cyriel Dessers appears to fall into that category having had persistent interest throughout the summer - with AEK seeing a bid rejected - as he missed the Premiership stalemate through injury.
However, Martin offered some kind words to the frontman. Speaking to Sky in the wake of the Igamane bombshell, he said: "I don't know what the Hamza situation will be after today.
"I don't know what the Cyriel situation is, but Cyriel is working hard to get back fit - so there is a difference there.
"But Cyriel is really aware of the clubs that want him, and how he sees it all. But Cyriel has been really honest about all of that, so we wait and see."
Speaking during his post-match press conference, he emphatically added: “Cyriel hasn't asked to leave. He's not asked to leave once. But we've had a lot of discussions about it. So we'll see what happens.”
The rapid clearout has seen Jefte, Ridvan Yilmaz, Ben Davies and Jose Cifuentes this week shown the door - but plenty more fringe men could be out the door by September 1.
Martin conceded that players who were out of the squad could be moved against Stephen Robinson's side could be offloaded.
He said: “There’s a couple of guys that are not in the squad today, a couple of guys who have not played as much as they want to.
“And it's always difficult. The thing is like, usually after eight weeks, you're probably two or three games in.
“People have worked out over six or seven weeks in the pre-season, or you've had real honest chats because you've learned a lot about them."
One player who is missing is Nedim Bajrami - who hasn't been seen since being hooked at half-time against Alloa despite scoring in the Premier Sports Cup.
The Albanian was dropped from the Champions League squad and reports had suggested he is now looking for a way out of the club.
Before the game against St Mirren, sidelined Bajrami posted a black and white picture of himself in a Rangers top in a now-deleted Instagram post - which has been interpreted by some as a cryptic exit message.
Oscar Cortes also doesn't feature in the European squad - with the 21-year-old only making three appearances this season. But it appears Martin has seen enough after dropping him against the Paisley Saints.
Rabbi Matondo had his loan spell at Hannover 96 cut short through injury last season - but has yet to resurface at ibrox this term. The Welsh winger appears to be surplus to requirements
Leon King and Clinton Nsiala are also understood to be exploring their options after dropping out of the first-team picture completely under Martin.
