SCOTS motorists keen to check out the rising popularity of the MG brand will be pleased to hear two new outlets are now open for business.

The new showrooms come hot on the heels of another set of stellar sales results for the nation’s fastest-growing mainstream car brand, with a record-breaking 2021 and more than 13,838 units registered in the first quarter of this year.

The retailer additions see the brand’s network grow to 153 dealerships, stretching from Lerwick on Shetland to Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

The two new sites in Bishopbriggs, north of Glasgow, and East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, take the number of MG franchises held by automotive giant Arnold Clark to seven.

MG Motor UK commercial director Guy Pigounakis said: “Growing our retail network while also improving its quality have been key objectives for us as we look to give customers a showroom experience that befits the quality of our products.

“We’re already the fastest growing car brand in the UK but the addition of these sites will make it even easier for people to access our models.

“I’m also thrilled with the calibre of dealers we are attracting, such as respected partners like Arnold Clark. This shows just how much confidence dealers have in the future of the MG brand and underlines our position as one of the most attractive and profitable marques.”
