Steaua boss makes Aberdeen 'spill blood' demand as he sounds Europa League battle cry

Elias Charalambous was raging after the Romanians slumped to a shock league defeat

FCSB Manager Elias Charalambous

Steaua Bucharest boss Elias Charalambous has demanded his players 'spill blood' against Aberdeen this week as they suffered a major setback ahead of the Europa League tie.

The Dons travel to Romania this week for the second leg of the play-off tie after a 2-2 draw at Pittodrie last week.

But Steaua slumped to a shock 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Arges Pitesti at home, which caused their Cypriot boss to accuse his own players of showing the wrong attitude as they made it just one win in seven league games this season.

And he's demanded a reaction against the Scottish Cup winners on Thursday. He said: "I am worried.

"Only playing with the right attitude against Aberdeen will be enough to see us qualify.

"We need to give everything - to shed blood. If we don't understand this, we will have a big problem with them.

FCSB's Cypriot coach Elias Charalambous

"If you don't give 100 per cent and leave everything on the pitch, then you won't win in this league.

"We didn't show that we want to win this match In fact, we didn't do anything.

"For me, attitude is the most important thing and they fought harder than us, they wanted to win more, it's simple.

"We need to change our attitude immediately."
