Teenager 'stabbed' and robbed of e-bike in terrifying attack in Edinburgh park

A teenager has been allegedly stabbed and robbed of his e-bike following an attack at a park in Edinburgh.
Police were called to Baronscourt Park in the Northfield area of the capital after the alarm was raised at around 8.40pm on Wednesday, July 30.
Officers from Police Scotland responded to reports of a 16-year-old boy being robbed of his electric bicycle and seriously assaulted. The Record understands the teenager was stabbed during the attack.
Ambulance crews attended and the male was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
Officers remain at the scene and an area behind the nearby Morrisons supermarket on Portobello Road remains taped off. A police van and several officers were also spotted speaking to locals within the nearby park.
Detectives have launched an investigation and they are asking anyone with information to get in touch.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.40pm on Wednesday, 30 July, 2025, a 16-year-old male youth was robbed of his electric bicycle and seriously assaulted in Baronscourt Park, Edinburgh.
“He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3680 of July 30, 2025.”
