The tiny Stirling village that is home to 'best campsite in Scotland'
It was called "an ideal base" to explore the surrounding area.
Scotland is home to a huge number of holiday parks and camping sites. Each of these offer something unique and cater to different tastes, so there is something for everybody.
Some Scottish holiday parks are situated by the sea with their own beach, while others are tucked away in the heart of an idyllic forest. Meanwhile, there is one that was once named the best in Scotland.
As previously reported by the Daily Record, Witches Craig Caravan and Camping Park is situated in the Stirling village of Blairlogie. It has received the top prize for Scotland for 2025 at the AA Campsite of the Year awards.
The judges described the site as "an ideal base from which to tour the central region of Scotland". They also singled out its "superb attention to detail" and "quirky metal statues and themed carvings from tree trunks".

Witches Craig Caravan and Camping Park offers a selection of hard standing pitches and electrical hook-up points. Amenities include a toilet and shower block, cooking shelters, a play park for younger visitors, and more.
In addition to being named Campsite of the Year for Scotland by the AA, Witches Craig Caravan and Camping Park has earned a number of other accolades. These include a five-star rating from VisitScotland, a 'Loo of the Year' prize, and a David Bellamy 'Gold' Conservation award.
Outside of Witches Craig Caravan and Camping Park, there is lots to get up to in the area. The nearby University of Stirling features world-class sporting facilities that are open to the public, while there are many golf courses and opportunities for fishing, cycling, and hiking.
For those who are keen to visit Blairlogie, but are not interested in staying at Witches Craig Caravan and Camping Park, there are other options available. Around the area, there are a variety of holiday lets that can be booked.
One of these is The Auld Kirk Annexe, which is available to book through Airbnb. The property, which sleeps up to two guests, can be rented out for £459 for two nights.
Described in the listing as a "stylish, beautiful, newly renovated, private apartment that is part of Scotland’s history", the accommodation includes a kitchen with various appliances, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a multipurpose lounge. There is also a shared garden space with a large patio and a grassy lawn, while the village garden is a short walk away.

Elsewhere, situated just outside of Blairlogie is Powis East in Powis House Estate, which can also be booked through Airbnb. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, it is priced at £567 for two nights for six guests.
Powis East is the oldest part of the larger property, dating back to the 1600s, and includes historic features such as low ceilings and stone flooring. Among its most unique features is an outside balcony and deck with a hot tub.
The accommodation has a rating of 4.85 out of five on Airbnb based on 20 reviews. Recent satisfied guests have described it as "very comfortable" and "fantastic", though a previous two-star review calls Powis East "rustic, not luxury".
