The Blue Pool at the Isle of Purbeck, a resplendent peninsula within Dorset, evolved from an old clay pit transformed by rainwater into a breath-taking lake with hues that shift like a kaleidoscope. This spot stands out as one of the most fascinating wonders of the region, encased by 25 acres of splendid woodland.
Welcoming tourists since the 1930s, the Blue Pool continues to captivate those who visit, offering them tranquil walks, photographic vistas, and wildlife encounters. The circuit can be tackled in less than an hour and appeals to casual strollers as well as ambitious trekkers.
Complete with a quaint tearoom and souvenir shop, not forgetting the spots for purchasing plants and where kids can romp around, it's got something for everyone. Entry to the site is set at £7.50 for adults and £3.75 for over-fives, whilst under-fives enjoy complimentary access, and four-legged friends are also welcome.
