West Lothian businesses celebrated as part of Scotland Loves Local Week

The theme for this year’s national campaign, which aims to encourage people to think local when they shop, is People Make Places, celebrating the important role played by business people at the heart of our communities.

The local business people who contribute the most to West Lothian’s communities are being celebrated as part of this year’s Scotland Loves Local Week.


The theme for this year’s national campaign, which aims to encourage people to think local when they shop, is People Make Places, celebrating the important role played by business people at the heart of our communities.


West Lothian is fortunate to have a number of community-minded business people in communities across the area, making a positive difference to the towns and villages they serve.


Depute Leader of West Lothian Council Susan Manion said: “I would encourage local residents to consider what they can do to support local business at this time.

“A vibrant West Lothian economy with successful local businesses helps everyone, creating more jobs and opportunities. Evidence also shows that any money spent with a local business is more likely to stay in the local economy, ensuring that our towns and villages remain great places to live, work and do business.

“West Lothian has many business people who play an important role in their local community, making the extra effort to ensure their local areas thrives.


“Huge thanks to them all for all their hard work for the benefit of the community on top of their business role. Please join us in celebrating them by leaving a comment below, tagging in their business where possible.”

Linlithgow MSP Fiona Hyslop, has spotlighted local businesses to celebrate Scotland Loves Local Week.

Fiona said: “West Lothian has many excellent local businesses, and I was happy to highlight some of these during Scotland Loves Local Week.


“I have visited many local businesses across the towns of West Lothian and during this year’s Loves Local Week I highlighted The Sewing Room and Mia’s Cards and Gifts in Whitburn and the Wee Winchburgh Café.

“I would encourage my constituents across West Lothian to support local businesses where they can as we have so many great businesses across the constituency.”
