Scotland's Six Nations campaign got off to the perfect start last weekend with a pulsating win over Italy.

The 31-19 scoreline looks more comfortable than it was in reality. Italy had raced back from 19-9 to 19-19 before Darcy Graham produced the magic to send Gregor Townsend's men on their way again. This weekend has already made a mockery of the form book with England edging France and Italy getting the better of Wales.

But for Scotland they face a much tougher challenge as the defending champions head to Edinburgh. Ireland ended their 2024 campaign with a convincing triumph over Scotland and the Dark Blues have not beat the men in green in their last 10 meetings. Opta's supercomputer may not favour a Scotland Six Nations triumph but a win over what many people consider as the best national team in the world will make the Tartan Army believe in a first trophy since the Five Nations in 1999.
